Description
Engraving of a half-length portrait of William Walker (1623-1684), a school master at the King's School, Grantham and author of A New Dictionary of English Particles (1668). The print was published by Thomas Sawbridge in Little Britain. Framed with coloured slips of decorative pattern.
From a set of albums known as Collectanea Newtoniana, a selection of prints, original artwork and manuscripts relating to Newton, collected by Charles Turnor (1768-1853). Turnor was an astronomer, collector and Fellow of the Royal Society. He owned Woolsthorpe Manor (Newton’s birthplace).
