Description
A full-length engraved portrait labelled, 'The Right Reverend S. Bradford Late Bishop of Rochester & Dean of Westminster in his Robes as Dean of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath.' Unknown artist and engraver.
Samuel Bradford (1652-1731) was a priest, lecturer and tutor in London, and was the Boyle lecturer in 1699.
From a set of albums known as Collectanea Newtoniana, a selection of prints, original artwork and manuscripts relating to Newton, collected by Charles Turnor (1768-1853). Turnor was an astronomer, collector and Fellow of the Royal Society. He owned Woolsthorpe Manor (Newton’s birthplace).
