    Description
    Entomological studies of insects and spiders arranged around a centrally placed moth, possibly the Elephant hawk moth Deilephila elpenor. Sixteen in insects are shown, with six spiders. The former include a specimen of the Great diving beetle Dytiscus marginalis (centre right), a water strider and two crickets (lower left and right). There is a small vignette of two ants scavenging a fly.
