Description
Entomological studies of insects and spiders. The plate contains twenty figures, including three details numbered 1-3 showing the development of a hawkmoth from caterpillar, to pupa and to the adult moth. The plate features a bumblebee on a flower (top right) and a lacewing (top left). There is a Swallowtail butterfly Papilio machion (centre right) near to a Garden spider Areneus diadematus. Below is a cricket (lower right) and a grasshopper (lower left).
