The accompanying text is headed: ‘Table XII. Bouts de Fil d’Holande bien fin’. The author comments that: ‘Voici deux Bouts du fil le plus fin, dont on fait ordinairement la dentèle de Brabant’. [Here are two ends of the finest thread, from which we usually make Brabant lace].
Martin Frobene [Frobenius] Ledermuller (1719-1769) German naturalist was employed in various capacities as a notary, turning to microscope studies after an illness induced temporary deafness.
