    Description
    A box mounted compound microscope, turned to the left [as viewed]. The ocular, objective lens and stage are attached to the microscope's main body, and the detachable fittings, including forceps, bone slides and alternate eyepieces, are presented below.

    Creator unknown. Similar in style to the William Cary (1759-1825) compound design.
    Object history
    Formerly the property of Sir Charles Blagden (bap. 1748 - 1820). Donated by James Fairhurst in 1939, with certain of Blagden's papers [MS/821].
