He wears a tasselled, military-style jacket with a white wig, and is draped in a velvet curtain. He leans on a ceramic column, just visible under his right arm. Enclosed by an ornate frame.

    Daniel Bernoulli (1700-1782) Swiss mathematician and physicist was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1750.
