    Description
    Head and shoulders portrait of Holder in clerical robes and wearing a black cap over shoulder length hair or wig. Within an inscribed oval surround, supported by a plinth, below which is a coat of arms.

    Inscribed within the oval frame: “GUILIELMUS HOLDER. S.T.P.SACELLI REGALIS SURDECANUS. SERENISS. REGIAE MATI. SUBELEEMOSIJNARIUS. ECCLRUM. STI.PAULI & F.LIENS CANOCHS. SOCTIS. REGIAE. LOND. SODALIS. 1683.” Inscribed below: D.Loggan ad Vivum delin Aetat: 67.”

    William Holder was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1663.
