Professor Timothy Grant Leighton (b.1963), British physicist and inventor, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 2014. He was awarded the Clifford and Paterson Award in 2018 for 'translation of his fundamental research into acoustics and its application many in areas including anti- microbial resistance, mine detection, foetal scanning, catastrophe relief, climate change and marine life'.
