    Four figures depicting various glass instruments made and used by Francis Hauksbee in his experiments on mercurial phosphorous.

    Illustrations to ‘Several experiments on the mercurial phosphorus, made before the Royal Society, at Gresham-College, by Mr Fra. Hauksbee, F. R. S’ in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, vol. 24, issue 303 (October 1705). Original proofs of these images can be found in MS/131/134-A, MS/131/134-B and MS/131/134-C.

    Francis Hauksbee (bap. 1660, d. 1713), British natural philosopher and scientific instrument maker, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1705.
