Richard Henry Dalitz (1925-2006) British theoretical physicist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1960, he served on the Council from 1979-1981. He was awarded the Royal Medal in 1982 in recognition of his outstanding contributions to particle physics, particularly in relation to the properties of strange particles.
