    Stipple engraving depicting a bust of Sir John Hoskyns, 2nd Baronet within a rectangular frame. Hoskyns is depicted with a shaved head and is seen wearing a robe in the classical style. The bust is shown turned towards the left slightly.

    Inscribed below: ‘Harding Sc/SIR JOHN HOSKINS/Published Sep 1, 1800 by Edw Harding, 98 Pall Mall.’

    Sir John Hoskyns, 2nd Baronet (1634-1705), British lawyer and natural philosopher, was an Original Fellows of the Royal Society, officially elected in 1663 following the grant of the second charter. He served as President of the Royal Society from 1682-1683.
