    Three quarter length portrait of James I, turned to the right [as viewed], looking directly out at the viewer. With hair natural, a royal mantel and white ruff and a column and crown visible behind.

    Inscribed below: ‘A Van Dyke Eques Pinx ab originali minuta fact per Fra. Hilyard A. D.i 1617.
