Description
Half-length studio study of Lord Armstrong, seated, with his head resting on one hand, looking down, and to the left, as viewed. The sitter’s elbow rests upon a book, itself on a circular inlaid table. The volume is Armstrong’s Electric movement in air and water (1897).
The photograph is mounted on card and inscribed below: ‘W. & D. DOWNEY. 57 & 61, Ebury Street, London. LORD ARMSTRONG.’
