Walter Norman Haworth (1883-1950), British chemist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1928 and served as Vice President from 1947 to 1948. He was awarded the Davy Medal, 1934, the Royal Medal, 1942, and was the recipient of the Nobel Prize (Chemistry) in 1937 ‘for his investigations on carbohydrates and vitamin C’.
