Sir Ewart Ray Herbert Jones (1911 – 2002), British organic chemist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1950 and served on its Council between 1969 and 1971. He was awarded the Davy Medal in 1966 ‘In recognition of his distinguished contributions to synthetic organic chemistry and to the elucidation of the structures of natural products’.
