George Neville Watson (1886-1965), British mathematician, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1919 and was awarded the Sylvester Medal in 1946 for ‘his distinguished contributions to pure mathematics in the field of mathematical analysis and in particular for his work on asymptotic expansion and on general transforms’.
