Francis William Rogers Brambell (1901-1970), Irish zoologist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1949. He was awarded the Society’s Royal Medal in 1964 ‘in recognition of his important contribution to our understanding of the passage of protein from maternal to foetal circulations’.
