Sir (Samuel) Rickard Christophers (1873-1978), British Knight medical researcher, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1926. He was awarded the Buchanan Medal in 1952 for ‘his outstanding research on malaria and on the Anopheles mosquitos [sic] which transmit that disease’. He served as the President of the RSTMH between 1939-1943.
