    Half-length portrait of Rickard Christophers, turned to the left as viewed, looking right of the camera. He wears formal evening dress and the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene's Presidential Medal around his neck.

    Sir (Samuel) Rickard Christophers (1873-1978), British Knight medical researcher, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1926. He was awarded the Buchanan Medal in 1952 for ‘his outstanding research on malaria and on the Anopheles mosquitos [sic] which transmit that disease’. He served as the President of the RSTMH between 1939-1943.
