Sir Alfred Charles Glyn Egerton (1886-1959), British chemist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1926 and served as Secretary between 1938 and 1948. He was awarded the Society’s Rumford Medal in 1946 ‘in recognition of his leading part in the application of modern physical chemistry to many technological problems of pressing importance’.
