Sir William Vallance Douglas Hodge (1903-1975), British mathematician, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1938 and served as its Secretary between 1957-1965, and Vice President between 1958-1965. He was awarded the Society’s Royal Medal in 1957 and its Copley Medal in 1974.
