Sir Joseph Burtt Hutchinson (1902-1988), British geneticist and agriculturist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1951. He was awarded the Society’s Royal Medal in 1967 in ‘recognition of his distinguished work on the genetics and evolution of crop-plants with particular reference to cotton’.
