Archer John Porter Martin (1910 - 2002), British biochemist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1950. He was awarded the Society’s Luverhulme Medal, 1963, and was joint recipient with Richard Laurence Millington Synge (1914-1994) of the Nobel Prize (Chemistry) in 1952 for ‘their invention of partition chromatography’.
