Sir Harry Work Melville (1908-2000), British chemist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1941 and served on its Council between 1945-1947. He was awarded the Society’s Davy Medal in 1955 and delivered its Bakerian Lecture in 1956 on addition polymerization.
