Ronald George Wreyford Norrish (1897-1978), British chemist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1936. He was awarded the Society’s Davy Medal, 1958, Bakerian Award, 1966, and was joint recipient with Manfred Eigen (1927-2019) and George Porter (1920-2002) of the Nobel Prize (Chemistry) in 1967 for ‘their studies of extremely fast chemical reactions, effected by disturbing the equilibrium by means of very short pulses of energy’.
