Sir John Turton Randall (1905-1984), British physicist and biophysicist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1946. He was awarded the Society’s Hughes Medal in the same year for ‘his distinguished researches into fluorescent materials and into the production of high frequency electro-magnetic radiation’.
