John Lionel Simonsen (1884-1957), British organic chemist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1932. He was awarded the Society’s Davy Medal in 1950 for ‘his distinguished researches on the constitution of natural products, especially the plant hydro-carbons and their derivatives’.
