George Frederick James Temple (1901-1992), British mathematician, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1943. He was awarded the Society’s Sylvester Medal in 1970 for ‘his many distinguished contributions to applied mathematics, especially in his work on distribution theory’.
