Sir Geoffrey Wilkinson (1921-1996), British chemist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1965. He was awarded the Society’s Royal Medal in 1981, and Davy Medal in 1996 ‘in recognition of his contribution to organotransition metal chemistry and the development of homogeneous catalysis and his work on hydroformylation’.
