    Half-length portrait of Thomas Bury, inclined to the right as viewed, looking out at the viewer. Dressed in a robe and mantle, with a tightly curled wig.

    Inscribed: ‘The Righr Honoble. Sr. Tho: Bury Knight/ Lord Cheif Baron of his Majesties Court/ of Exchequer. I. Richardson pinx. 1719. I. Smith fec et ex 1720.’

    Sir Thomas Bury (1655–1722), British judge, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1718.
