Description
Map showing the major regions from India in the west, to Japan in the east. With China and the Great Wall to the north, and part of Australia (‘New Holland’) in the south, with to the extreme south-east ‘The Land of the Holy Ghost’. The map is crossed by the ‘Equinoctial’ [the equator] and is framed with scales of latitude and longitude. The passage of Commodore Anson’s voyage from China to London is marked, with the track of the Manila galleon, presumably the Nuestra Senora de Covadonga, captured as a prize by Anson.
