Sir George Robert Edwards (1908-2003), British aircraft designer and industrialist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1968. He was awarded the Society’s Royal Medal in 1974 ‘in recognition of his many contributions to aeronautical engineering, particularly in the realization of supersonic aircraft’.
