Sir John Cowdery Kendrew (1917–1997), British molecular biologist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1960. He was awarded the Society’s Royal Medal, 1965, and was joint recipient of the Nobel Prize (Chemistry) with Max Ferdinand Perutz (1914-2002) ‘for their studies of the structures of globular proteins’.
