Description
Fanciful still life, with a central female head crowned with laurels, surrounded by natural and man-made objects. The scientific instruments include an armillary sphere, a telescope, and a chemical retort. These are shown with a flowering cactus and other representations of botany: and with insects, notably a beetle and a cricket.
