    Head and shoulders portrait of Charles Marsham, in the robes of his peerage, turned to the left as viewed, eyes regarding the viewer.

    Frontispiece to Transactions of the Society, instituted at London, for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures, and Commerce…[Transactions of the Royal Society of Arts] v.30 (1812).

    Inscribed below: ‘CHARLES EARL OF ROMNEY, F.R.S. Late a Vice President of the Society instituted for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures, & Commerce. Engraved by W. Bromley, from an original Painting by Sir Wm. Beechey, in the Possession of the Marine Society.’

    Charles Marsham, 1st Earl of Romney (1744-1811) British politician was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1776.
