Description
Head and shoulders seated portrait of Augustus Frederick, inclined to the left as viewed, eyes regarding the viewer. The sitter wears a dark coat upon which is the star of the Order of the Garter.

Augustus Frederick, Prince, Duke of Sussex (1773-1843) was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1828. He served as its President from 1830 to 1838.
