Walter Thomas James Morgan (1900-2003), British biochemist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1949 and served as its Vice President between 1961-1964. He delivered the Society’s Croonian Lecture in 1959 and received its Royal Medal in 1968 ‘In recognition of his outstanding contributions to knowledge of the chemistry of blood-group substances, with special reference to genetical as well as immunological considerations’.
