Neil Bartlett (1932-2008), British chemist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1973. He was awarded the Society's Davy Medal in 2002 for 'his research exploring the highest oxidation limits of the less oxidizable elements, primarily using elemental flourine'.
