Sir John Frank Charles Kingman, British mathematician, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1971 and served on the Council from 1977 to 1979. He was awarded the Royal Medal in 1983 In recognition of his distinguished researches on queuing theory, on regenerative phenomena, and on mathematical genetics.
