Head and shoulders portrait of Eric Harold Mansfield square on and looking directly to viewer. He is wearing thick framed two-toned spectacles and is dressed in a wool suit jacket, white shirt and silk tie.

Eric Harold Mansfield (1923-2016), British aeronautical engineer, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1971 and served on its Council between 1977 and 1978. He was awarded the Royal Medal in 1994 for ‘his many fundamental and analytical contributions to our knowledge of advanced aeronautical structures, and more recently to the biological sciences.’
