    Map of Hudson Bay showing the regions of Quebec and Labrador to the east, Ontario to the south and the regions of Manitoba and Nunavut to the west. The Hudson strait is also visible towards the north on the map, below this strait two dotted lines show a long chain of mountains.

    Jacques-Nicolas Bellin (1703-1772), French hydrographer, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1753.
