    Description
    Map showing Mariel Bay on the northwest coast of Cuba. A narrow inlet at the top of the map leads into a wide bay with a number of promontories extending into it. A large hill is marked at the entrance of the bay, on the right side of the inlet.

    Jacques-Nicolas Bellin (1703-1772), French hydrographer, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1753.
