    Map showing the Bay of Saint Louis on the southern coast of Haiti, seen here whilst the west half of Hispaniola was occupied by France as the colony of Saint-Domingue. The main town of Saint Louis, now known as Saint Louis du Sud, can be seen on the northeast shore of the bay, with the fort visible on an island in the bay.
