    Map of the historic centre of Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. The city is shown here during Spanish rule whilst Hispaniola was split into the Spanish colony of Santo Domingo and the French colony of Saint-Domingue. Key buildings including the cathedral and the fortifications are listed in a key at the top right of the map.
