Circular portrait medal of Christopher Wren, showing his head and shoulders in profile on the obverse of the medal. The reverse shows the west front of St Paul's Cathedral.
Obverse inscribed: ‘CHRISTOP WREN EQUES AVR& ARCHITECT’ ‘OBIIT A D 1723 AET 91’. Reverse inscribed: ‘VNVM PRO CVNCTIS FAMA LOQVATVR OPVS’ ‘INCEPT A D 1675’ ‘PERFECT A D 1711’ ‘G D GAAB SCULP / AEDES S PAVLI LOND’
Sir Christopher Wren (1632-1723), British architect, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1660 and was therefore a Founding Fellow. He served as President 1680-1682.
