Michael John Seaton (1923-2007) British physicist was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1967 and served on its Council between 1974 and 1976. He was awarded the Hughes Medal in 1992 for his theoretical research in atomic physics and leadership of the Opacity Project.
