    Head and shoulders portrait of Alfred Spinks inclined to the left and looking directly to viewer. He is dressed in a mid-tone pin-striped suit jacket, white shirt and academic tie.

    Alfred Spinks (1917-1982) British chemist and biologist was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1977. He gave the Philips Lecture on Targets in biotechnology in 1981.
