    Joseph Lister, 1st Baron Lister of Lyme Regis (1827-1912), British surgeon, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1860. He served as President between 1895-1900, delivered the Croonian Lecture in 1863 and was awarded the Royal Medal in 1880 and the Copley Medal in 1902.
