Three-quarter length portrait of John Freeman-Mitford in the braided gown of the Lord Chancellor, a position he held from 1802-1806. He is seen wearing a long wig and is holding the loop of the chancellor's purse in his left hand. His right hand is resting on a table, and he is shown within a lavish interior setting.
