Half-length portrait showing William Hasledine Pepys in a dark jacket, white shirt and silk cravat. He is shown turned slightly towards his right and is looking out towards the viewer. He is seen with dark, curly hair and wears a tasselled cord across his chest, possibly for a cape.

William Hasledine Pepys (1775-1856), British surgical instrument maker and natural philosopher, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1808.
